After my last article on goal setting for 2025, I received a flood of messages from friends, colleagues, and the UAre community. Many of you told me that while setting goals is important, what really matters is building a foundation that supports long-term well-being. You wanted more on the key areas that impact your health and happiness every day—not just during a short-lived New Year’s resolution.

That’s why I’m diving deeper into what we at UAre call the Big Four: Movement, Mindset, Relationships, and Habits. These four elements create the Circle of Life, the foundation for lasting success in health, fitness, and life in general.

Movement: More Than Just Exercise

One of the biggest challenges I hear from people is staying consistent with movement. The truth? Exercise doesn’t have to mean grinding it out in a gym.The key is to find movement you love—surfing, swimming, running, yoga, hiking, or even dancing around the house with your kids. When movement becomes something you enjoy, it shifts from a chore to a natural part of your day.The takeaway? Just move. Your body was designed for it, and the benefits go far beyond fitness—it’s about energy, longevity, and mental clarity.

Mindset: The Power of Perspective

After my last article, I heard from a lot of you about the mental challenges of staying on track with your health goals. This is where mindset training becomes crucial. At UAre, we focus on mindfulness, gratitude, and self-belief—because your thoughts shape your reality. A strong mind allows you to push through setbacks, stay motivated, and enjoy the journey instead of just chasing the end goal.Try this: Start your day with one positive thought—whether it’s a goal, a gratitude practice, or simply reminding yourself that you’re capable of growth. Over time, these small shifts in perspective make a huge difference.

Relationships: The People Around You Matter

One of the most powerful insights from your feedback was how much relationships impact overall well-being. And it makes sense—who you spend time with shapes your energy, motivation, and even your habits.Surround yourself with people who uplift you. Whether it’s your family, teammates, training partners, or close friends, having a strong support network makes everything easier. If you’re struggling to stay motivated, check in with your crew. Accountability and encouragement can make all the difference.

Habits: Small, Consistent Actions = Big Results

Many of you asked, “How do I make healthy choices automatic?” The answer: Build better habits, not just better goals.Instead of relying on willpower, set up systems that make success easier. Prioritise sleep, fuel your body with real food, and create daily rituals that support your health. Simple things—like prepping meals in advance, keeping a water bottle nearby, or setting a bedtime alarm—help you build consistency over time. The key? Start small and stay consistent. Don’t try to overhaul your life overnight. Focus on one small habit at a time, and let the momentum build. The

Circle of Life in Action

This article was inspired by your feedback. After talking about goal setting, it became clear that goals only work when they’re built on a strong foundation. That’s exactly what the Big Four provide—a framework for long-term success, not just short-term motivation. So, here’s my challenge to you: Pick one of the Big Four to focus on today. Whether it’s moving your body, shifting your mindset, strengthening your relationships, or refining your habits, take that first step.Which one will you start with? Let me know—I’d love to hear your journey.
